Knights of the Old Republic: news and rumorsīuilt from the ground up with new features The only trailer the game has received so far has pointed to the KOTOR remake being a PS5 exclusive, with no other platform announced. The original KOTOR, and its sequel, never made it to PlayStation consoles, and was an exclusive of the original Xbox console line-up. It’s worth noting that it’s quite the coup for Sony here, too. It's also handled various other ports for Star Wars games on modern consoles. This studio has been responsible for the multiple platform ports and re-releases the original game has received over the intervening years since its first release. Reportedly, design director Brad Prince and art director Jason Minor were subsequently fired from the project and the game's now looking at a 2025 timeframe. Allegedly, this did not go down well with Sony and Lucasfilm, who expected a higher quality build. According to a recent Bloomberg (opens in new tab) report, the team at Apsyr are facing potential issues after creating a vertical slice demo, demonstrating the game's major features. Unfortunately, it appears that the next Star Wars RPG has been delayed.
